Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton, follows the story of a recently deceased couple, Barbara and Adam Maitland, played by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin. After dying in a car accident, they find themselves trapped as ghosts in their own home. When a new family, the Deetzes, moves in, the Maitlands try to scare them away but fail.

With the help of their handbook for the recently deceased, they uncover Beetlejuice's weaknesses and ultimately outsmart him, banishing him back to the Netherworld.

In the end, the Maitlands and the Deetzes learn to coexist peacefully in the afterlife, with Beetlejuice lurking in the shadows, waiting for his next opportunity to cause mischief. The film ends on a whimsical note, with the characters dancing together in harmony, celebrating life and death in all its forms.
